Often people remain in a misconception that interior designers are similar to interior decorators. But this is not really the case. There may some similarities but the two professions are overall different. Their functions, their roles differ from each other. Below are some of the points that make palpable the fact of the two professions being different from each other.
- Job: An interior designer is a person who is responsible to form a useful and an eminent interior design of a space allotted. It is their responsibility to be thorough about the construction practices and building codes. While an interior decorator is the one who is responsible only to make the space allotted to them stunning to look and feel. There job does not involve getting into more complex stuffs.
- Education: The education is one of the main factors that separate the designers from the decorators. The education taken by interior designers is basically a full time course of subjects like different choices of acoustics and sound transmission in a room, etc. While an interior decorator merely undergoes a part time or a full time course of art.
