Initialization of Floating Oak Engineered Floors: Interior Designing Ideas

An oak engineered floor is good to look at and is the most common type of wood used in many houses. Oak engineered flooring can be formed into various kinds of floorings, floating floorings being one of it. Floating floors are a type of floorings that are not attached to the floor but are fixed over an existing floor. These floors give a look of original oak engineered flooring.

  1. The first step is to eradicate the floor trim from the corners of the room. This can be done by using a pry bar and a hammer. This step should be done carefully as the floor cannot be broken or cracked as it has to be reinstalled later.
  2. Take a strip of moisture barrier supported on your starting wall. Cut the end of it with a knife.
  3. Fix the first set of the oak boards along the starting wall, placing them together without any gap. If there is any gap between the boards and wall then cover it with a spacer.
  4. Now cut the last board of the set to fit at the side wall.
  5. Now after the first board, start fixing the second set next to the first one. Make sure that they line up properly.
  6. Build the floor set by set by making use of moisture barrier strips.
  7. Cut the board of the last set with a saw by leaving a 3/8 inch gap.
  8. Now reinstall the floor trim with the help of a nail gun. Make sure that the floor trim covers the entire gap.
